Long time with no comments, but I have little more to say...and I haven't even mastered what I've already said. So feel free to add to the conversation.
I suppose in the common definition of hope, that is, hope in this world, your viewpoint is a valid one. Hope for, as you say, better ways, better times, less tragedy... and most of mankind hopes/wishes and even strives for these things...and they will always be ultimately disappointed. The hope I speak of transcends human capability and does not simply exist. The hope I speak of never disappoints.
Romans 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, [a]we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and[b]we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but [c]we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Guy, you take wonderful pictures and I wish I was half as talented as you. I appreciate all the wonderful photos you have given over the last two years I have known you. You have a wonderful family, and your not too bad either.
As far as hope, you dont have to pray for hope, it just exists (hope). Similarly to wishing. just when you think you are out of wishes, you can continue to wish, and much like hope, the only thing that changes is the idea in your head. Not anything of grand proportions, nothing devine. Just hoping and wishing for better ways, better times and less tragedy in our lives.
Guy, my brother, you are very gifted. I love you. T.
